La (re)construction textuelle de l'identite chez Faiza Guene et Abdellah Taia

This paper focuses on the re-construction of non-fictional (personal and cultural) identity through textual mechanisms with
contemporary francophone authors of North African origin, relying on two recent representative illustrations: the novels Kiffe kiffe demain by Faiza Guène (2004) and L’armée du salut by Abdellah Taïa (2006). This approach means to defend – aesthetically and thematically – the general tendency of these marginal «ecritures de soi» to mainly rely on “testimonial” discourses, as a viable alternative to – or as a literary way of dealing with – identity issues (and crises) related to postcolonial culture clash(es).
