Abstract

The study falls under the area of identity and representations of Spanish-speaking students who learn Romanian as a foreign language. Our goal is to analyze the social practices of interaction, in the Romanian cultural contexts. The corpus for this analysis consists of the cultural artistic manifestations, called Literary Evenings, which are communication situations favoring a more direct approach to the varied expression of the Romanian language and culture: literature, art, philosophy, sculpture, theatre, traditions, music, gastronomy. According to Goffman (1959), the individual presents himself/ herself and presents his/ her activity to others; similarly, during the literary evening, the students enter a dynamics of identity construction, in relation to the character and/ or the author, in a theatre where the third one is the audience.
