Abstract

This paper analysed the way in which Blaga’s poems can be translated into English. It primarily dealt with the particularities of Blaga’s idiostyle and with the way in which these can be harmonized with the principles of translation. Modernist in approach, Blaga still has prosodic features in his poems which must be preserved in English in order to obtain the same effect on the target readers as was generated among the Romanian native audience.
