Abstract

The paper presents the influence of psychoanalysis upon literature, but also the influence that literature had upon psychoanalysis, as many of its subjects have been borrowed from the literary world. Examples will be given from Dostoevsky, Goethe, and Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
