Abstract

The paper offers an analysis of two novels published in the latter half of the 18th century- Elizabeth Inchbald’s A Simple Story and Frances Sheridan’s The Memoirs of Miss Sidney Bidulph, whose common topic is the subversion of traditionally accepted feminine values.
