Abstract

The article intends to provide an image of what the MDA approach is about and how it supports the software development process. It also provides a critical view by showing the benefits and disadvantages of introducing MDA in a company. The review, in this article, of the concepts, which are at the core of MDA, makes the new vision more comprehensive. To get a more practical view of MDA, the existing MDA tools and their functionality will be described. By showing what model transformations the tools support, the development process, proposed by MDA, gets even clearer
