Abstract

The aim of this paper is to define the new type of mappings which is called modified Suzuki-Berinde F-contraction mapping in the framework of metric spaces. Fixed point theorems for such mappings in complete metric spaces are established. Furthermore, we present examples to support our main results, using these examples, we establish that our main results are a generalization of the fixed point result of Wardowski [Fixed points of a new type of contractive mappings in complete metric spaces, Fixed Point Theory, and Appl., 94, (2012)], Piri and Kumam [Some fixed point theorems concerning F-contraction in complete metric spaces, Fixed Point Theory and Appl.,210, (2014)] and a host of others in the literature.
