Simulation of the Wood Cutting Process with Circular Saw Blades

Abstract

The cutting process with circular saw blades is one of the most important wood cutting processes. The cutting process is characterized by independent and dependent variables. The independent variables are factors of various influences depending on the wood, tools, and processes and the dependent variables are the dynamic parameters of the process i.e. cutting power, specific resistance to cutting, cutting forces, etc. By simulation of the cutting process, it is easily possible to study the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variables.
