Abstract

In this paper there are presented aspects regarding the usage of satellite images with very high spatial resolution in determining the
characteristics of forest stands. The focus was mainly on the number of trees per unit area and medium diameter of the crowns. Determinations were made by special processing - reception programs followed by the processing of statistical methods.
