Abstract

This analysis is based on the investigation of specific structures used in traditional vernacular architecture and furniture by researching rural settlements specially chosen for this purpose on the following criteria: the presence of specific structures in the construction and furniture, diversified utilization patterns of wooden species, architectural and furniture joints. The three case studies illustrate and provide some conclusions in this regard but they provide also an additional practical experience to the theoretical analysis through on-site investigation.
