Collecting of Vocal Folk Music at the Turn of the 20-21st Century in Csík County

Abstract

A great number of the 513 melodies collected between 1993 and 2002 in the region of „Felcsík” and presented in this study are valuable folk songs. Many of them are based on the pentatonic scale. From the 49 songs collected at the beginning of the previous century I collected myself – after almost one hundred years – 11 melodies and from the 130 songs from after the ‘40s I collected 61 more songs.
