Turning a Dramatic Script into a Musical Libretto: The Libretto of The Opera ”Hamlet” by Pascal Bentoiu

Abstract

Working from the argument that the tragedy written by Shakespeare has been a source of inspiration for various musical works, we point out a series of changes undergone by the dramatic script which subsequently became the structure (the skeleton) of a new musical-dramatic genre, the opera.
