Taste-related Aspects in Baltasar Gracián’s Aphorisms

Abstract

The XVIIth and XVIIIth century writers tackled taste related aspects from an artistic point of view. At that age the philosophical meditation comprehended that there was another source of knowledge beyond reason, namely intuition. Nevertheless, the thinkers who took a special interest in the moral discipline had already focused on taste-related aspects.
