The opera1] is built up by the combination of the variable numbers of the arioso, the melodic motifs, and the secco recitatives and the lively choral scenes are at turns with the orchestra interludes. One can also find intonations specific to the Russian popular melodies in the last scene of Sostakovici’s opera.
