Abstract

The new socio-technological systems, which are meant to help different institutions in their action, as a cheaper and faster way to achieve goals and regulations, and the interaction between those systems and individuals may create new ways of behaviour and new patterns of control. While a new panopticon concept is shaped and our lives are apparently slightly changed, the implications of using new technologies are more profound, opening the possibility of fundamental changes of social life. The aim of the present paper is to underline the social capabilities of using new technologies, from the surveillance perspective.
