Snakes Island, Just 0.17km² Discords Between Romania and the Ukraine

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to analyze the present situation of a much-disputed territory of only 0.17 km², Snakes’ Island. Situated in the Black Sea, the Island represents an important issue between two neighbour states, Romania and the Ukraine. Thus, the paper discusses the facts from multifarious points of view as historical, juridical, diplomatic, and each of these views are related, both from Romanian and Ukrainian perspective. In addition, the paper analyzes which could be the best possible solutions, and also develops some foresights.
