Management training for doctors has become crucial with the introduction of market-inspired logics in the Italian national healthcare system. In this frame, the paper presents the main findings of a study with a twofold aim: providing an overview of health management training system by analyzing the Italian training provision; investigating perceptions and opinions of medical doctors involved in management courses. Results suggest, on the one hand, the heterogeneity of the Italian management training system and, on the other, a gradual reframing of medical professionalism.Downloads
