Abstract

In Romania, the society embraced a family conservative model that tends to promote traditional values regarding marriage and parenting. For the past decades, exposure to the European social universe through massive migration and increased interaction with various cultures and lifestyles resulted in the acceptance even by the most traditional Romanians of new relationship styles that were not tolerated by our society not long ago. Overall, this study was inspired by the changing characteristics of modern society in the last few decades, including older marriage age, celibacy, and divorce rates. All these factors influence young people's choices, attitudes, and behaviors regarding relationships, family life, and professional life.
