Abstract

Clean water is a basic human need whose existence is getting smaller so various water management efforts are needed, including wastewater. DEWATS stands for a decentralized wastewater treatment system. Three aspects must be considered when planning health facility provisions in urban areas, specifically: physical aspects related to the quality of the physical facilities, like the maintenance of the water supply and sanitation activities; social and institutional aspects related to the ability and willingness of the community to carry out the operations and maintenance of water supply and sanitation; and health and environmental aspects.
