National Communities and Citizenship

Abstract

In order to reconcile the multiplicity of identities and the exercise of democratic citizenship, we must see the issue of communication of thoughts and of experiences. We need to take into consideration the diversity of historical experiences of the countries of Central, Eastern and Western Europe, and examine the conditions for the possibility of a dialog between national communities, the self-consciousness of which has been forged by these experiences.
