The Roman law heritage is present even today in all the legislations that are part of the Latin law system. This continuity and uniformity is due in part to the overwhelming influence of the Napoleon Code. Since the most stable part of all civil codes is the one concerning the form of wills, this article attempts to highlight some of the common and national characteristics of modern testamentary forms in the context of Napoleon’s legacy, without overlooking new trends such as the international will.Published
