Implicit and Explicit Learning in Engineering
Keywords:
implicit learning, engineering, meta-engineering, multi-modal trainingAbstract
In accordance with the revue, implicit learning is a type of spontaneous learning, accomplished by doing, resistant to disorders. In engineering training, Science, Techné, and Practice are integrated, but we have to be cautious when underlining the effectiveness of tacit knowledge acquisition as the most essential and defining characteristic of Engineering. Know-how is a necessary condition in engineering activities, but it is not sufficient. According to the theory of triple encoding, practice has to be accompanied by theory, by means of alternation, and multi-modal training.Published
