The Protection of Human Dignity and the Right to One’s Own Image

When the legislator, no matter the democratic state he belongs to, tries to settle the freedom of expression, as a fundamental right recognised and guaranteed through juridical instruments in any state of law, he must take into consideration the necessity of protecting the reputation and dignity of a human being. Freedom of expression is guaranteed in any democratic society, but still there are some restraints to protect the right of a person to one’s own dignity, to honour, private life and the right to one’s own image.Published
