Evaluation of Risk Factors for Candidiasis Infections in the Brasov Population
Keywords:
oral and vaginal candidosic infections, risk factorsAbstract
The alarming increase in morbidity associated with candidosis and the therapeutical problems they involve impose, nowadays, the elaboration of complex strategies to combat these diseases, that include not only the use of antifungals and methods to increase the resistance of the host, but also knowing and eliminating the risk factors that essentially contribute to the appearance, maintenance and relapse of infection. The aim of the study is evaluating the risk factors for oral and vaginal candidosic infections in population residing in Brasov in 2006. The research was observational, a case-control study and the processing of the data was made using the programs Epi Info 2003, SPSS, Excel. In the case of oral candidosis, we noticed the primordial role of risk alimentation followed by the anterior antibiotherapy and the associated immunosuppressive diseases. In the case of the vaginal localization of candidosis, we noticed the inversion of the impact, as antibiotherapy is on the first place, followed by comorbidities and risk alimentation.Published
