Abstract

Fournier's gangrene is a form of necrotizing fasciitis, an extremely aggressive and rapidly progressive polymicrobial soft tissue infection of the perineum and genitalia, which demands early recognition, aggressive treatment with antibiotics and surgical debridement, in order to reduce morbidity and mortality.
