Abstract

Sepsis is considered to be a systemic response to an infection. This pathology is an common cause for mortality and morbidity being the primary cause of death among patients in the Intensive Care Units. Because of the increasing need for a standardised animal model of sepsis we decided to validate a murinic one using the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) technique and easy to obtain physiologic and laboratory parameters.
