Abstract

As stroke remains one of the main causes of mortality worldwide, knowing the risk factors for stroke facilitates the implementation of prevention programs. We studied the distribution of risk factors for stroke in the population included in Brasov Stroke Registry. We included 119 cases in the present study. The most prevalent risk factor was arterial hypertension, followed by diabetes mellitus, atrial fibrillation, and coronary heart disease. Cardiovascular, but also metabolically risk factors were frequent in the population we studied.
