Abstract

Whether it is a bacterial or fungus infection, the medical literature shows a high risk of death due to infections during cytostatic therapy for hematologic diseases in children. Invasive fungal infections are important risk factors for morbidity and mortality in cancer patients with neutropenia after de intensive cytostatic therapy. We are presenting a case report of invasive aspergillosis in the context of an immunocompromised child after intensive chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
