Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome is an accumulation of endocrine changes that associates oligo-amenorrhea, obesity, hirsutism, androgen excess and resistance to insulin. Ovarian drilling can be done through classical laparoscopy and by transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy - minimally invasive surgical method. We performed a meta-analysis of eight studies conducted between 2003-2011, which include a total of 350 infertile patients undergo transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy. Reviewed studies have demonstrated a 49.1% rate of pregnancy after getting a transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy similar to pregnancy rate after laparoscopic ovarian drilling- 58.5%. In conclusion, we can say that transvaginal hydrolaparoscopy is a new method of diagnosis and treatment for infertile patients with micro polycystic ovary syndrome.
