Abstract

BHV prevention in a large population involved special immunisation. The World Health Organisation recommended in 1992 BHV vaccination in National Programs and Vaccination Strategies, including Romania. Despite these programs, the majority of the population is not included in vaccination programs, and the medical education level is very low. The study evaluates the present knowledge about BHV infection, the level of awareness regarding the necessity of specific prophylaxis, and the opportunity and the students ’ availability of continuing the education in this important public health matter.
