Abstract

The paper analyses the influence of the number of casts fed by the same feeder on the real solidification module of the feeder. It is shown that the increase in the number of castings fed by a single feeder triggers a considerable increase in the real solidification module of the feeder. Feeding more castings from the same feeder allows for reducing the sizes of the feeders and obtaining superior indexes as regards liquid alloy used in castings. This solution applies to small parts.
