Abstract

This paper presents the function, design, and construction principles of a portable, inexpensive potentiostat. The presented device is designed for didactic study and researches. The considerations were based on a study of potentiostatic control, including basic potentiostatic circuits and electrochemical applications. Commercially potentiostats are large in size and expensive. For these reasons, it was desirable to design and build a miniaturized, inexpensive field-portable potentiostat to interface with various types of electrochemical probes. The aim of this work was to offer this instrument as a laboratory experiment or special project for students.
