Abstract

Under the umbrella of the generic issue of Rapid X, there are some concepts such as Rapid Prototyping (RP), Rapid Tooling (RT), and Rapid Manufacturing (RM). This paper presents industrial applications of the RP/ RM techniques, developed at the Industrial Innovative Technologies Laboratory, within the Manufacturing Engineering Department at Transilvania University of Brasov. The focus is on the determination of optimal strategies used in polyjet and” inkjet” RP technologies. The optimal strategies affect on the build time, support structure, surface quality as well as the cost of the physical prototype.
