Abstract

This paper presents a study of performance evaluation of adherence between anchoring cement-based mortar and concrete for post-installed steel reinforcing bars. A series of nonstandard tests were performed with the objective of assessing the adherence at the boundary between anchoring mortar and support concrete. Pull-out tests were performed to determine the adherence resistance mortar-to-concrete. The bond strength at this interface is assessed. The results are useful in the design phase of the post-installed rebar connections between an old concrete member and a new one.
