Abstract

Measurement devices like micrometers and dial indicators are in general used in machining production, which is a process that involves heat release during operation. Taking into consideration that temperature is influencing the dimensions, the paper are presented the simulated results obtained with the finite element method for the thermal deformation variation of the above instruments and based on them introduces a set of instructions that must be used in choosing any measuring instrument for a specific product.
