Abstract

This paper presents a short overview of the process of choosing a suitable and original solution for a steel-concrete composite footbridge crossing the Bega river in Timisoara. Its special shape fits harmoniously in the environment of the main project, and the solid body of the bridge will be covered with a COR-TEN® steel envelope. By choosing a rational and efficient solution, an economic, aesthetic, and sustainable structure has emerged, having an emblematic character for the locality.
