Abstract

The construction Condition Assessment falls under the responsibility of constructed facility owners, administrators, and users, according to the provisions of Law 10/1995 regarding quality in construction. In this respect, this activity is a component of the Construction Quality System, as it is defined by the law. The main intended purposes of Condition Assessment refer to providing information about the condition of the building (actual performances of the building components), identifying eventual strengthening or repair works that have to be carried out, and emphasizing critical problems, or other similar conditions which need to be addressed immediately. This paper presents the most important outcomes of the latest studies of the authors concerning condition assessment in the case of three main categories of buildings: gas stations, hospitals, and learning facilities of the Technical University of Iasi.
