Abstract

Developing products using AM technology results in reduced material consumption, as processing additions are much smaller or even totally absent, unlike conventional subtraction technologies. The present article describes the influence of the part build orientation (construction angle in relation to the horizontal) on the tensile strength and hardness of the polyamide parts (DuraForm PA Plastic) obtained through Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology. The print orientation of the part has a significant influence on both the mechanical properties and the efficiency of using the machine's building volume.
