Abstract

This paper deals with the establishment of the optimal size and placement of a distributed generation (DG) unit in the different buses of a low voltage radial distribution network applying the U-shape curve fitting method with the criterion of system power loss minimization. For modeling and simulation of a test network, the NEPLAN software is used, to obtain information about power flow analysis, voltage level in buses, and power loss in branches of the network. The results show that the U-shape curve fitting method could be applied for a large number of buses in radial networks.
