Abstract

The paper presents an evaluation of dissimilar standard correction factors imposed to road vehicle engine performances. The standards referred are ISO 1585, BS AU 141a, DIN 70020 and SAE 1349. The influence of
atmospheric conditions (pressure, temperature and humidity) on performance declaration is assessed for a naturally aspirated diesel engine based on dynamometric bench testing. Some comments were made on the relation between gross and net power and on the admitted limits of correction factors.
