Abstract

The paper presents the possibilities of using the ashes resulting from the burning of coal in electro-thermal plants. In this way, a pollution source can be transformed into raw material. The effects are: the reduction of environmental degradation by pollution, the decrease in consumption of virgin raw materials used for building materials, the increase in the land returned to agricultural use, the increase in living standards, and improved health for the people near the landfill areas.
