Retrieving Data from a Database Using Cursors Is Not Always Wrong

Microsoft recommends avoiding the use of the CURSOR keyword to retrieve data from a SQL Server database. This paper aims to present a case in which this recommendation does not achieve the expected performance. The case refers to an application used for candidates’ admission to the faculty. In this paper is presented a comparison of results obtained while working on this project.Published
