Monitoring the Operational Parameters of Power Transformers, Means of Increasing the Economic Efficiency

Abstract

Estimation of power transformer lifetime is of utmost importance, considering the transformer an essential element of the electric energy production and distribution installations. The estimation methods, based upon prophylactic measurements, can be the basis of on-line monitoring of the insulation state. The paper presents the arguments for introducing the on-line monitoring of transformers.
